BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent hosts 10th anniversary Christmas concert for Claire House

BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent hosted Claire House Children’s Hospice’s Carols and Candles event at Christ Church in Port Sunlight.

TV presenter and journalist Sally joined Claire House families, supporters and volunteers for the charity’s annual Christmas event, which is an intimate evening of festive readings and carols performed by candlelight.

The traditional carols were performed by the Vale of Clwyd Singers and the event marked the start of the festive season for the charity.

Claire House supports seriously and terminally ill babies, children and young adults across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales.

The festive evening on Tuesday, December 3 was sponsored by Rathbones PLC and marked the 10th anniversary of the event.

The centre-back was joined by goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan, who added: “It has been really nice! It was great to give some gifts to the kids, and we had a great time playing with them and getting involved. It was great to see the amazing work they do here at Claire House.”

This was Everton Women’s first visit to Claire House’s Wirral hospice, following trips to the charity’s Liverpool site in West Derby in March 2024 for the Butterfly Bake campaign, which shines a light on bereavement support, and last Christmas.

The girls arrived straight from training at Finch Farm but wasted no time getting involved and were once again praised for making the day special.

“We are really grateful that Courtney and Megan have come down to Claire House,” said Head of Communications, Hannah Shannon. “They met the children, got involved with some art activities and got the glitter out. They made little mementos with the children so they can remember this day. It is something really special for everybody.
