Chelsee Healey returns to Strictly - this time for Claire House
The former Strictly runner-up will swap dancing shoes for a judging paddle as she joins us at Claire House Does Strictly this weekend.
Chelsee Healey paid an emotional visit to Claire House Liverpool in West Derby
This year’s Claire House Does Strictly brings together a line-up of dancers who have spent months training and fundraising for seriously ill children and their families.
Helping to choose who lifts the Glitterball Trophy is our latest guest judge, actress Chelsee Healey.
Having taken part in both Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice, the Waterloo Road star knows first-hand the dedication and determination it takes to master a routine and perform in front of a crowd.
Ahead of the big night on Saturday, the mum-of-two and ex-Hollyoaks actress shares why supporting Claire House is so important to her.
What made you want to support Claire House?
“Supporting Claire House is so important to me. Being a mother, I can’t imagine what these children and their parents are going through. Having a safe space at Claire House for children and their families is incredible, and I’m in awe of all the work you do.”
How did you feel after visiting Claire House Liverpool?
“I thought Claire House was amazing, as well as emotional. I left feeling so honoured to have seen the incredible work you do and instantly wanted to help in any way I could.”
What advice would you give to this year’s dancers?
“Just enjoy every moment!”
What kind of judge will you be?
“I’m an Anton Du Beke! I’m not too critical and really appreciate how hard it is to get out there and perform. I’ll always offer encouragement.”
What song always gets you on the dance floor?
“I love a bit of ‘Step by Step’ by Whitney Houston.”
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
“I wanted to be a dancer, funnily enough. Dance has always been a passion of mine.”
How would your family, friends and co-stars describe you?
“They would describe me as having a big heart, as well as being funny and caring.”
Chelsee is set for the judges seat after an emotional visit to Claire House Liverpool
This summer, the actress visited Claire House Liverpool to see the difference the charity makes to children and families across Merseyside and beyond.
For Strictly, Chelsee will be joined by fellow judges, Yvonne Dunn, Miguel Doforo and last year’s winner Josh Maddison.
At the end of the night, the judges’ scores and audience votes will be combined, with one couple crowned Claire House Does Strictly 2026 champion.
The event will be held at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel on Saturday, September 26 and will raise vital funds and awareness for Claire House.
