Shine for Claire House in 2025 and beyond!

This year, giving back to your local children’s hospice, Claire House, has never been more exhilarating!

Whether you're seeking a challenge that will get your adrenaline pumping or a more scenic adventure, there are countless ways to shine in 2025 and beyond.

Claire House supports seriously ill babies, children and young adults across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales from its Wirral hospice, Liverpool site or in the community.

Here are some of the top charity events to consider —each offering a unique opportunity to make a difference while testing your limits – just like these fundraising superstars.

1. Skydive for Charity

Nothing says thrill-seeker like leaping out of a plane! With jumps from up to 10,000 feet, you’ll experience the thrill of free fall. You will be securely attached to an experienced tandem instructor before pulling your parachute to glide back down while raising funds for a great cause.

Super supporter: Daredevil Chris Young recently took on the charity skydive for Claire House, jumping from 10,000ft and raising more than £3,500 for the hospice. And mum of three Rebecca Smith lost more than five stones so she could skydive for Claire House last September.

Get involved: Skydive on September 6, 2025 with Skydive Tilstock.

2. Wing Walking Adventure

If you're looking for something out of the ordinary, why not try wing walking? Strap yourself to the top of a plane and, as it soars through the sky, you'll stand on the wings, taking in breathtaking views. It’s not for the faint hearted, but it’s sure to be unforgettable!

Super supporter: Grandad Alan McKie, 82, was strapped to the wing of a plane, flying the flag for Claire House in memory of his great niece Izzy McEgan.

Get involved: Active and community events take place all year round. For more, visit: www.clairehouse.org.uk/events-challenges

3. Snowdon Charity Challenge

Why not trek Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) at night? Join a group of like-minded adventurers, hiking the highest peak in England and Wales before summiting at sunrise.

Super supporters: Claire House fundraisers included 24 walkers who climbed and raised money in memory of Bethany Price. And dad Dave Willcox trekked in memory of his baby daughter, Ava.

Get involved: Trek Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) at Night on August 2 to August 3. www.clairehouse.org.uk/events/snowdon-at-night-2/

4. Stride to Success – Running Events

A classic way to combine fitness and charity, fun runs and marathons have raised thousands of pounds for Claire House over the years. From 5Ks to the Chester Marathon, there are endless opportunities.

Super supporter: Couple Katie and Jason Frain ran in memory of baby Aubrey, with Katie completing her first (London) marathon this year and Jason doing six marathons in six days in 2023.

Get involved: Lace up your trainers and join Claire House for the Chester Marathon on October 5 or the Everton 10k on October 12.

5. Conquer Cycling Challenges

Whether you're crossing the country or taking part in a local event, cycling offers an eco-friendly way to support local children and families. Grab your helmet, gear up, and pedal for a purpose. And it’s a great way to train for Cycle Thailand – the adventure of a lifetime!

Super supporter: Claire House dad Phil Hayward jumped into the saddle for the Mizen Head to Malin Head in Ireland in memory of his son Michael. Also, teams of dedicated fundraisers cycled from London to Paris to raise money for the charity.

Get involved: Spend five days cycling through Southern Thailand on February 12 to February 21, 2027. More at: www.clairehouse.org.uk/events/cycle-thailand-2027/
