Catering Support Volunteer
Use your time and enthusiasm to make a real difference in the heart of the hospice.
Are you friendly, reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team? We’re looking for Catering Support Volunteers to help our kitchen team provide comforting meals and a welcoming dining experience for children, families and staff at Claire House.
As a Catering Support Volunteer, you’ll play an important role in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. From preparing simple meals to setting up dining areas, your support helps create a warm, caring environment where families can feel at ease.
What you’ll be doing:

- Assisting with setting tables and serving food and drinks
- Keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean, tidy and well-stocked
- Supporting with basic food handling and following daily order sheets
- Helping create a positive, welcoming mealtime experience
This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a dedicated team and make a meaningful impact through everyday tasks. It’s perfect if you enjoy hands-on activity, working with others, and giving your time to support families when they need it most. Flexible shifts are available across the week.
Who we’re looking for:
- Friendly, enthusiastic and approachable
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and time management skills
- Comfortable working in a kitchen environment
- Willing to complete training including food hygiene
Availability: Monday (fortnightly), Thursday and Sunday available, generally 10am-1pm
We offer:
- Full training and ongoing support
- Valuable experience in a catering and healthcare environment
- A welcoming and supportive team
- The chance to make a real difference every day
