Volunteer Sibling Ambassador

Use your experience to support and inspire other siblings at Claire House.
Are you a Claire House sibling aged 18–25? Do you have a compassionate heart and a friendly nature? We’re looking for Sibling Ambassador Volunteers to help support other siblings who, like you, have experienced the challenges of having a brother or sister receiving hospice care.
As a Sibling Ambassador, you’ll play a vital role in creating a welcoming, supportive space where siblings can connect, make friends, and enjoy fun, meaningful activities. You’ll assist in facilitating trips and events, helping siblings build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting the delivery of sibling trips and group activities
Encouraging peer support and friendship among siblings
Being a positive role model and champion for siblings at Claire House
Showing empathy, understanding, and respect for personal boundaries
This is a unique opportunity to use your own experience to make a difference. It’s perfect if you enjoy working with children and young people, want to develop new skills, and need a flexible volunteering role. Some weekend and evening availability is essential, as this is when activities usually take place.
Who we’re looking for:
Claire House siblings aged 18–25 (please state your relationship on your application)
Compassionate, empathetic, and a good communicator
Able to demonstrate resilience and respect boundaries
Willing to attend an informal interview and complete a DBS check
Availability: Flexible, with some weekend, evening, and school holiday hours required
