The Claire House Lantern Walk is our landmark annual event; an opportunity for the local community to walk in memory, walk in celebration and walk together in support of Claire House.
The walk starts at dusk and follows the promenade up to and through Vale Park before returning to the finish line at Seacombe Ferry Terminal.
The walk is organized in partnership with Eureka! Science & Discovery, where all walkers collect their lanterns when they arrive, and Mersey Ferries, with entertainment and refreshments in the terminal
pre-event.
The walk is aimed at families, with young children, teenagers and adults able to walk together, and the very first Lantern Walk in 2023 attracted 850 walkers.

Why is the event important?
As a charity that has cared for babies, children and young adults at end of life for over 25 years, it is important that we provide an event where local families can walk together in memory of a loved one.
Lanterns are a symbol of light and hope, and as a charity, we felt that a Lantern Walk was the perfect landmark event for Claire House.
The promenade is a special place for people to remember, and as 1000 people walk in the dark with lanterns, the Lantern Walk represents a special event for Claire House and the community that we support.
